Police Appeal Following Assault Near Euston Way

Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the town. The incident occurred close to Euston Way on Sunday 6 November.

At around 6.40am, as the victim - a 21-year-old man - made his way to work along a footpath next to the eastern primary he was approached by three unknown men.

The three men stopped the victim, surrounded him and one of the men then struck the victim from behind.

The victim fell to the floor and was punched and kicked repeatedly by the men. While the victim was on the floor it appears his mobile phone - a Blackberry Curve worth £120 - fell out of his pocket and one of the men picked up the phone before all three men then fled the scene on foot.

As a result of this assault the victim suffered grazes to his face, a cut to his bottom lip and bruising to his arms, chest and ribs.

A police spokesman said:

"Although the victim fell to the floor during this assault he has been able to describe the men that attacked him. All three men are described as being white, aged in their early 20s and as wearing dark coloured hooded tops. Two of the men are also described as wearing dark blue tracksuit bottoms while one is thought to have been wearing jeans.

"One of the men also had facial hair.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police in Telford of 0300 333 3000. Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather not get directly involved yourself."
