Police Appeal Over Road Rage Incident Near Oswestry
Police are seeking witnesses to a road rage incident at Whittington, near Oswestry.
No-one was seriously hurt but a man and his partner have told police they were subjected to a physical assault while sat in their stationary Ford Escort XR at a T-junction in Station Road. Two children were also in the vehicle.
A passenger from a red car, thought to be a VW Golf which stopped at the centre of the junction, was reported to have attempted to attack the man driving the Escort.
The incident happened at around 1.15pm on Sunday and police are anxious to hear from anyone who saw what happened.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Both cars were stationary at the time. It has been reported that the Golf passenger approached the Ford and leant inside through the window. Attempts were made to push and pull him away and after grabbing hold of the woman's hand, he has gone back to the Golf which has then driven away."
"Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact Oswestry police station on the 101 non-emergency number."
The man from the Golf is described as white, mid to late 30s, of broad build with a shaven head.
Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers independent charity by calling 0800 555 111.
