Police Appeal Over Weston Rhyn Pub Raid

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a raid by three hooded men on a village pub near Oswestry.

The burglars, wearing balaclavas, were disturbed by the occupants at the Plough Inn, Weston Rhyn.

The fled on foot but may have had a car parked some distance from the premises.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said the break-in happened at around 6am today.  Entry was gained via a door.

A quantity of cash was stolen from gaming machines and a pool table.

"We are appealing for witnesses or any information which might assist the investigation," added the police spokesperson.
