Police Band Seeks New Musical Director
The Band of West Mercia Police is looking for a motivated person to help it hit the high notes.
Following the departure of the current musical director, the band is seeking a new conductor to ensure the band reaches its full potential.
The musical director will be responsible for training the band, the content of all concerts and the rehearsal of those pieces. They will also have to make decisions about player positions within the band.
Chairman of the band PC Richard Waterhouse said: "This is an exciting opportunity for a musical director to take control of a very committed and ambitious group of players.
"Our current musical director is moving to another part of the country and we are looking to appoint a dynamic person to continue the excellent work of the outgoing conductor.
"Next year is the band's 25th anniversary and as well as a busy concert schedule, we will be working hard to win some silverware on the contest stage.
"Currently sitting in third section and finishing a very creditable fifth out of 18 bands at this year's Midlands area contest, the band is seeking to do even better next year with a view to returning to the second section in the not too distant future."
Anyone interested in applying for this opportunity can contact PC Waterhouse on 07771 618654 or via email: [email protected]
