Police In Bridgnorth Seek Owners Of Golf Clubs
Police in Bridgnorth are trying to trace the owners of a bag of golf clubs.
The bag was found by officers when they stopped a suspected thief in the Mill Street area of the town late last night.
They arrested the 26-year-old man on suspicion of theft and took him into custody to Shrewsbury police station for questioning. He was given bail with conditions today while police enquiries continue.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We believe the clubs are stolen and are urging local residents to check their belongings if they keep a bag of golf clubs in a garage or shed.
"We are anxious to trace the rightful owners who should contact Bridgnorth police station on 101."
The clubs, in a black Donnay international golf bag, were recovered when the man was stop-searched after being spotted acting suspiciously.
