Police In Hereford Release CCTV Appeal
Police in Hereford have today released a CCTV image of a man they wish to trace in connection with a theft that occurred in the city.
The incident occurred at Countrywide Stores on Mortimer Road on Friday 16 December 2011.
At just before 9.30am a man and woman entered the store and made their way to a rack displaying a number of jackets.
A short time later the couple left the store and staff then discovered that one of the jackets was missing from the rack. A pair of luxury slipper socks were also missing from a nearby display.
The missing jacket was worth £65 while the socks were worth around £20.
A police spokesman said:
"Officers investigating this theft are very keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image we have released today as it is thought he was near the rack of jackets at around the time this theft occurred. We believe he may have vital information about this incident.
"The man we wish to trace is described as being white, around 6ft 2inches tall, in his late 40s and as having a stocky build. He is also described as being bald and as wearing a fleece top under a long, tan coloured coat.
"Anyone who believes they may have information about this theft, or who recognises the man pictured in the CCTV, is asked to call officers in Hereford on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 0387-S-161211.
"Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather leave information without getting directly involved yourself."
