Police In Market Drayton Appeal Over Shot Cat
Police in Market Drayton are appealing for information following an incident in which a pet cat had to be put down after being shot with an airgun.
Scooby, a 16-year-old ginger cat, suffered such serious injuries, that the vet had to put her to sleep.
The incident was reported to police by her distraught owner on Monday.
It's thought Scooby was shot between 5pm and 5.45pm on Friday in the Chancel Drive/Farcroft Drive area.
A single pellet struck her in the head, becoming lodged in her jaw.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for any information which might help us trace the person responsible. Contact Market Drayton police station on the 101 non-emergency number.
"Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers independent charity by calling 0800 555 111."
