Police Investigate Burglary In Brookside

Police in Telford are investigating following a burglary in Brookside.

The incident occurred at an address on Cygnet Drive sometime between 10am on Saturday 17 December and 6.30pm on Sunday 18 December.

Sometime over the weekend it appears that thieves broke into the property by forcing open a living room window at the front of the house.

Once inside the property it appears the thieves made their way to an upstairs bedroom and carried out a thorough, untidy search. As a result of this search the thieves found a jewellery box which they then emptied on the bed before stealing items with the value of at least £10,000 and making their escape.

It appears the thieves left the house via the front door so investigating officers are very keen to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious behaviour, or unfamiliar individuals, on Cygnet Drive over the weekend.

At least 40 rings - of assorted types of metal, many including gems - were stolen during this burglary while more than £1000 of damage was also caused at the address as a result of this break-in.

Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident is asked to call police in Telford on 0300 333 3000.

Alternatively, please remember that information can also be left anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
