Police Seek Identity Of Alveley Burglary Suspects
Police are seeking to identify two suspects captured on CCTV cameras while trying to break into a home at Alveley, near Bridgnorth.
The men fled the premises when a burglar alarm was activated as they tried to force open a window.
Officers investigating the attempted breakin have now released CCTV images of the two suspects in the hope they will be recognised.
Detective Constable Jason Whelan, the investigating officer, said: "I am appealing to anyone who thinks they might know these men to contact me at Bridgnorth CID on 0300 333 3000.
"It's possible they come from the Bridgnorth area, or possibly further afield such as the West Midlands."
The incident happened at about 12.20pm on August 5 while the occupants were away on holiday. They returned three days later and noticed a downstairs window had been tampered with and reported the matter to the police.
DC Whelan said: "The CCTV film clearly shows two white males walking around the property. One is seen to take something from his pocket and jemmy the window open. This has set off the alarms and the two men have walked off in an unknown direction."
He said no entry was gained and nothing was stolen. Damage to the window amounted to about £20.
"I am hoping someone will recognise the two men from the pictures and contact me at Bridgnorth police station. Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111."
