Police Witness Appeal Over Road Death Near Alveley

Police today appealed for witnesses to an incident in which a motorist collapsed and died while driving near Bridgnorth.

It's thought the 69-year-old man may have suffered a heart attack.

The incident happened on the A442 just outside Alveley at around 4pm on Saturday.  The man was driving a black Volvo V70 estate towards Kidderminster when it left the road at slow speed and went into a roadside hedge.  No other vehicle was involved.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.  A post mortem will be held to establish the cause of death.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and have appealed for witnesses to contact Bridgnorth police station on the non emergency 101 number.

The coroner for south Shropshire Mr Anthony Sibcy has been informed.
