Racial Abuse At Wellington Restaurant
Police are appealing for witnesses after they received a report that a member of staff at a Wellington restaurant was racially abused on Friday evening (19 October).
At around 8.10pm, two men and a teenage boy went into Spiceland restaurant on Market Street to confront a member of staff about an ongoing dispute. This escalated into a heated argument, in which the Asian restaurant worker was repeatedly racially abused, officers have been told.
PC Andy Dawson, who is investigating the incident, said: "West Mercia Police does not tolerate racially aggravated crimes and we are trying to trace any independent witnesses to this incident.
"If you were in Spiceland between 8pm and 8.30pm and saw this dispute take place, please contact West Mercia Police and tell us what you saw and heard."
