Police in Telford are appealing for information after thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of red diesel from a recycling centre.

Thieves broke into the premises at Grange Lane in Redhill some time between 4.30pm and 7pm on Sunday.(17 June)

Thieves forced entry to the premises and to a metal fuel container.

Around 3,500 litres of red diesel was stolen, which is worth around £2,000 in value.

A total of £300 damage was also caused to the site.

Police are investigating the theft and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "It is believed thieves forced their way in some time on Sunday evening. After gaining entry, offenders attacked a fuel container and stole a significant amount of red diesel.
