Residents Invited to Property Marking Event in Kidderminster
Police are inviting residents from the Greenhill area of Kidderminster along to a property marking event at the weekend.
The event will take place between 12 midday and 3pm on Saturday 23 January at the Surestart Centre in Radford Avenue.
Police are encouraging local people to pop along and have their valuables security marked, particularly any new items they had as Christmas presents.
PC Rob Piper from Greenhill Local Policing Team said: "If you had a new laptop, mobile phone, iPod, bike or other high value item for Christmas, why not bring it along on Saturday and have it security marked? We'll be offering this service without charge and should the worst happen and your property is lost or stolen, you'll stand a much better chance of getting it back if it's marked with your details."
Police say that they will also be able to offer advice on property marking for other valuables at the event and would also be able to arrange home visits to security mark larger items.
PC Piper added: "We know that security marking property can be a real deterrent to burglars and this is why we run these sessions. As an extra incentive this time, we have a limited number of free gifts to give out to people attending and we hope this and the chance to have their valuables marked will ensure a good turn out. Everyone is welcome!"
The free gifts have been donated in partnership with the Wyre Forest Pathfinder programme.
