Robbery In Redditch

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 23-year-old man was robbed on his way home in Redditch.

It happened between 12.30am and 1.15am on Sunday, 22 January, in Yvonne Road.

The victim left the Bramley Cottage pub in Callow Hill at about 12.15am. As he was walking down Yvonne Road he was pushed from behind, causing him to hit his face on a nearby post box. He turned round to see two men, one of which started searching through the victim's pockets and removed a wallet and keys. There was a brief altercation between the victim and one of the men before the offenders ran off, discarding the wallet as they ran.

One of the offenders is white and the other is black, both are thought to be in their 20s, and both were wearing grey hooded tops and tracksuit bottoms.

The victim sustained bruising below his right eye and was in shock. He attended the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch for treatment and went home a short time after.

The keys have since been recovered in a nearby field.

PC Lee Myatt said: "We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or thinks they know who the offenders are to call police with any information they may have."

Anyone with information should call PC Myatt on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 51-S-220112, or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
