Search Continues For Missing Shrewsbury Man

Police were today continuing to search for a 36-year-old man missing from his Shrewsbury home since Friday.

Concern is mounting for Mr Simon Rothwell, of Monkmoor who was last seen at 12.30am on Friday when a taxi dropped him off in Abbotts Road after a night out.

The alarm was raised at around 7.45am the same morning when some of his personal belongings were found in the Castle Walk area, near the River Severn.

There have been no known sightings or word of him since then.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "We are continuing the search for Simon and renewing our appeal for information.

"As time goes by his family and the police are becoming increasingly concerned about his welfare.  His disappearance is totally out of character and we are anxious for any information which might help in locating him."

Simon is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build with short brown hair.   He was last seen wearing a dark coloured jacket, beige cords and black boots.

The police spokesperson added: "We want to hear from anyone who has seen Simon, heard from him, or has any information concerning his whereabouts.  Please contact Shrewsbury police station on the 101 non emergency number."
