Six Arrested After Leominster Disorder - Witnesses Sought
West Mercia Police officers in Leominster are appealing for witnesses to come forward after there was a large-scale disturbance in Leominster town centre in the early hours of Sunday morning (11 July).
Some time around 2.30am, fighting broke out in South Street among people leaving the Euphoria nightclub. At 2.35am, officers patrolling the town centre came across what had become a large disturbance in South Street, near the junction with Westbury Street, near the bingo hall.
Other officers were called and helped to subdue to the situation, however four police officers were injured, albeit none seriously. No club-goers were hurt.
Six people - three men and three women - were arrested for a variety of offences, including affray, public order and assaulting police officers. They have all since been released on police bail pending further investigations.
PC Jan Thompson, Leominster Police Station, said: "This was large-scale public disorder for a normally quiet town like Leominster; so much so the two officers who discovered it had to call for back up and four of the officers who attended were injured.
"With a large disturbance of this kind we are dealing with a complex and confusing picture, so it is important we speak to anyone who saw what happened that night or anything that occurred in Euphoria that may have sparked the disorder later on."
Anyone who may have information is asked to call PC Thompson at Leominster Police Station on 0300 333 3000. Alternatively, you can pass on information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
