A man has been arrested after police carried out a drug warrant at a house near Market Drayton.

Officers entered the address in Riverside Drive at about 7am on Friday 10 August 2012.

Following a search, more than 40 suspected cannabis plants at various stages of growth were found in the loft and back garden, along with cultivation equipment.

A 20-year-old man at the address was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis and taken into custody. He has been interviewed and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The plants and equipment have been seized and will be destroyed following forensic examination.

Sergeant Tony Merrick, of Market Drayton Police Station, said anyone who had concerns about drug activity in their communities should contact police on 101.
