Three Arrested Following Police Pursuit Near Shifnal

Three men were arrested after a stinger device was used to stop their car during a police pursuit near Shifnal today.

Officers on patrol in High Street, Shifnal, attempted to stop a suspicious car shortly before 1am.

It failed to respond to the police and drove off.  Following a short pursuit along country lanes, officers used a stinger device to halt the vehicle on the A41 at Woodcote.

The car was abandoned by three men who were arrested shortly after and taken to Malinsgate police station in Telford.

The men, aged 25, 24 and 21, remain in custody on suspicion of theft, failing to stop for police and dangerous driving.  The 24-year-old is also being held on suspicion of driving while disqualified.
