Three Arrested In Connection With Wem Egg Farm Burglary

Three people were arrested when security staff disturbed intruders at an egg farm near Wem.

Two men ran off from Oaklands Egg Farm at Edstaston when challenged by a security guard shortly before 10.30pm last night.

Police were alerted and officers carried out a search of the area with the force helicopter helping to check nearby fields.

A suspicious car was located parked up and the sole occupant, a 28-year-old woman, was arrested.

Two men, aged 34 and 24, were traced by officers hiding in undergrowth.

All three were taken into custody at Shrewsbury police station on suspicion of burglary.

The woman has been given police bail pending further enquiries and the two men, currently still in custody, are due to be bailed later today.
