Three Arrested Over Robbery At Shrewsbury Store

Police have arrested three people in connection with a robbery at a Shrewsbury store in which staff were threatened.

Two hooded robbers went into the Co-Op shop on Mount Pleasant Road  at around 7.10pm last night.

One jumped over the counter and grabbed about £90 from the till while the other threatened staff, saying he had a knife.

They fled the premises and were seen leaving the area in a black Renault Clio.

Police quickly attended the scene and through enquiries attended an address in Darville, Shrewsbury where three people were arrested about an hour after the robbery.

Two men aged 27 and 19 and a 15-year-old youth remain in custody at Shrewsbury police station being questioned on suspicion of robbery.

The 19-year-old is also being questioned about a burglary during the weekend at a home in St Julian's Friars in which watches and cash were stolen.
