Three Sought Over Shifnal Distraction Burglary

Police are trying to trace three people who carried out a distraction burglary at a Shifnal florists.

Two women and a man of "dark European" appearance escaped with £20 after distracting the shopkeeper at Blue Florists in Market Place on Friday afternoon.

They entered the shop at around 4.30pm and while the man engaged the shopkeeper with an enquiry, the two women roamed around the shop.

One of the women was spotted in a private kitchen area and when challenged all three quickly left.

It was later discovered that £20 had been taken from a box in the kitchen.

Police Constable Mike Jenkins, the investigating officer, said: "I want shop owners and staff in the area to be aware of this incident in case attempts are made to repeat it elsewhere.

The suspects are described as: One woman aged 16 or 17, 5ft tall of medium build with dark hair in a pony tail.  She was wearing a dark coloured jacket.

The second woman is in her early twenties, about 5ft 2ins tall, also of medium build with dark hair tied back.  She was also wearing a dark jacket.

The man is in his mid twenties, 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build with short hair at the sides and spiky on top dyed orange.  He was wearing a tan coloured jacket.
