Two Arrested After Cannabis Seized In Hollywood
Police have arrested two people after seizing cannabis during the execution of a search warrant at Hollywood, near Wythall, today (Friday, 11 November).
The warrant was obtained under the Misuse Of Drugs Act and officers executed it when they forced entry to a flat at Oak Trees, May Farm Close, at 8am.
A 6ft cannabis plant was seized along with hydroponic and other growing equipment including lights, heaters and ducting. Cannabis seedlings and dried cannabis were also removed from the address.
A man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis, a Class B controlled drug, and taken to Redditch Police Station for questioning.
Sergeant Carl Paskin of West Mercia Police said today: "Drugs cause misery for communities and we will continue to take strong action against anyone involved in their production, use and supply.
"If members of the public suspect drugs are being produced or supplied at an address please come forward with that information."
