Two Arrests Following Hereford Robbery
Police officers investigating a robbery that occurred in Hereford yesterday morning have confirmed they have made two arrests in connection with it.
This incident occurred at around 8.45am on Wednesday 11 January, as the victim - a 15-year-old girl - walked through the Newmarket Street subway towards the city centre.
Two men approached the victim from behind and stole her handbag but an unknown pedestrian then managed to wrestle the bag back off one of the men before the two offenders made off.
A police spokesman said:
"I can confirm that two 24-year-old men were arrested in connection with this incident yesterday afternoon and have since been bailed pending further police enquiries.
"Although arrests have been made, we remain very keen to speak to the pedestrian who came to the victim's aid and as a reminder he is described as being white and in his mid 20s.
"We are also very keen to speak to anyone else who may have information about this incident, especially anyone who may have seen the two offenders running from the scene.
"Anyone who believes they may have information about this robbery is asked to call officers in Hereford on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 0034-N-110112.
