Two People Seriously Injured In Collision On Canon Pyon Road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Herefordshire yesterday left two people with serious injuries.

At 6.05pm on the A4110 Canon Pyon road at Bush Bank, a blue Fiat Punto travelling towards Hereford collided head on with a Toyota Avensis driving north.

A woman in her 30s driving the Punto and a man in his 60s driving the Avensis were both taken to Hereford County Hospital with what were thought to be life-threatening injuries. They both remain in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A female passenger in the Avensis sustained a broken ankle while three children in the car were all treated for minor injuries and shock.

Inspector Damian Sowrey said: "This was a very bad collision with serious damage to both vehicles and someone could easily have been killed.

"Collision investigators have started looking into the cause and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or either of the vehicles involved in the moments leading up to it."

Anyone with information is urged to contact Insp Sowrey at Hereford Police Station via the non-emergency number, 101. Information can be passed on anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
