Two Suspects Arrested Over South Shropshire Pub Burglary
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after police discovered them in the cellar of a south Shropshire pub.
Officers were alerted when security alarms were activated at the Salway Arms, Woofferton, near Ludlow on Saturday.
They discovered the premises had been broken into by forcing a window.
A search of the pub was carried out and the two men - aged 45 and 32 - were found inside. They were taken into custody at Shrewsbury police station for questioning on suspicion of burglary.
The men were later given police bail with conditions while enquiries continue.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We urge members of the public to call the police on 101 if they see anything suspicious which may be linked to criminal activity. We are particularly anxious to be contacted if a burglary is suspected."
