Wallet Theft In Redditch Supermarket
Police are reminding people to be vigilant after a man in his 80s had his wallet stolen in a Redditch supermarket.
The victim in Tesco, Coldfield Drive, between 11am and 11.30am yesterday, Thursday 29 December, when another man bumped into him. The victim checked and his wallet was still in his jacket pocket but it had gone by the time he went to pay for his shopping at the till.
The wallet contained £150 cash and bank cards, one of which was used to withdraw £300 cash. The wallet was later found discarded in a bin in Church Green East.
The only description of the man who bumped into the victim is that he was about 5ft 6ins tall and wearing a brown coat.
Shoppers are being reminded to stay vigilant and where possible keep purses or wallets in an inside coat pocket.
Police recommend they avoid carrying large amounts of cash, and don't keep PIN numbers with bank cards.
