War Medals Stolen In Evesham Burglary
Police in Evesham are appealing for information about a burglary at a house in Hampton.
A property off School Road was broken into via a rear window between 11.40am and 1.20pm on Thursday, 2 August.
Jewellery and a number of World War II medals were stolen including the 1939 - 1945 War Medal, the 1935 - 1945 Star, the France and Germany Star and also the Defence Medal.
Detective Constable Verity Farr is investigating the incident. She said: "Understandably, these medals have immense sentimental value to their owner.
"They have his name and service number on them so if you have recently been offered or bought any of the medals mentioned above, either individually or as part of a set, we would very quickly be able to identify if they are the ones we are looking for.
"This burglary happened during daytime hours and there is a chance that someone in the local area may have witnessed something which could help us with our investigation.
"I would urge anyone who saw any suspicious vehicles or people in the vicinity of School Road on the day of the offence to call us with the details."
Anyone with information about this incident can contact Det Con Farr on 0300 333 3000, quoting 305S 020812, or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
