War Medals Stolen In Kidderminster Burglary

Police are appealing for information about a burglary in Kidderminster in which war medals were stolen.

It happened in Peel Street between 8.30pm on Tuesday 29 November and 12.10am on Thursday 1 December.

Offenders got over a fence into the rear garden and forced a ground floor window, causing £150 damage.

They stole property including World War 2 medals which were on display in a small open fronted case.  The medals had been presented to the victim's late father, and are of sentimental value.

They include an Italian Campaign Star, African Campaign Star, 1939 - 1945 Star, European Defence Medal, and a Palestine 1946 bar. Some were inscribed with the name S Watson.

Also stolen were an X-Box and two wireless controllers worth £100, four X-Box games worth £70, a camcorder worth £80, and £80 cash which the victim had been saving for Christmas.

Witnesses or anyone with information, including anyone who sees the medals offered for sale, are asked to contact PC Adrian Bartlett at West Mercia Police on 0300 333 3000 quoting incident 8-s-011211 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
