Warning Solves Mini Moto Problem At Redditch

Problems involving a mini moto being ridden on pavements in Winyates, Redditch, stopped after a warning was issued, a PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meeting heard.

Complaints had been made at a previous Winyates PACT meeting about a mini moto being used anti socially in Treville Close. An update was given at the meeting at the Oasis charity shop in the Winyates Centre on 9 November when people were told that police and Redditch Borough Council's anti social behaviour team had issued a resident with a warning in relation to the use of the mini moto. As a result the problems had stopped.

The meeting was also told that zig zag road markings to prevent parking outside Roman Way First School in Colts Lane had now been replaced. Concerns had been expressed that the markings had not been put back there following recent resurfacing work.

There was more good news when County Councillor Gay Hopkins announced that the worn out part of Farmoor Lane, running from the island by the Peugeot garage to Kingham Close, will be resurfaced shortly.

New priorities for action which were raised at the meeting followed calls for the 58A bus service to the Alexandra Hospital to be resumed, complaints about noise and drink-related anti social behaviour by youths using Eyton Close as a cut-through to Arrow Valley lake and other parts of Winyates, and concern over bins blocking walkways at the back of Treville Close and Woolhope Close on collection day.

Winyates PACT will next meet in the Community Office at the Winyates Centre on Wednesday, 14 December, at 7pm.
