Window Locks Thwart Burglars At Broseley Pub
Extra locks on windows prevented burglars breaking into a Broseley pub.
The would-be burglars used a ladder found at neighbouring premises to climb onto a roof at The Ironmaster in the High Street.
They smashed a window but were unable to gain entry because of extra locks which had been fitted. They made off empty-handed following the attempted breakin which happened between 1am and 10.30am yesterday.
Burglars also fled empty-handed after attempting to break into a house in Bridgnorth Road, Norton, Shifnal just before 6pm last night.
They forced a patio door causing about £2,500 damage but were disturbed by neighbours before they had time to enter the property.
Police are also investigating an incident at the Severn Valley Railway station in Bridgnorth where a café window was smashed between 3am and 7.30am today. It's not yet known if it is a burglary or act of vandalism.
An appeal for witnesses has been issued by police with regard to all three incidents. Contact Bridgnorth police station on 101 if you saw anything which might be linked or have information about the identity of the offenders.
The anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111 can also be contacted and a reward may be paid.
