Witness Appeal After Man Assaulted In Wellington

Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of an assault in Wellington.

A man in his 20s was walking along New Street with his girlfriend just after 1pm yesterday (Thursday, 27 September), when they became involved in an altercation with another couple.

Following the altercation, which happened outside Cash Converters, the man was punched to the head.

Officers are keen to hear from any independent witnesses who saw exactly what happened.
