Witness Appeal After Stourport Burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Stourport.

It happened in Stagborough Way, between 12 noon on Saturday 6 October and 9.30am on Thursday 11 October.

The offenders climbed over a rear garden fence, and broken into the property via a rear garage door and a further internal door. They searched drawers and cupboards but police are still trying to establish what was stolen.

PC Kate Medlam of West Mercia Police said: "We believe there were two offenders, and that they climbed over the rear garden fence from Dewberry Close.

"We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen two people acting suspiciously in the area, or anyone else with information, to contact us on the non emergency number 101 quoting incident 119-s-111012 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."

Last month West Mercia Police launched Citadel, an aimed at driving down the number of burglaries committed in the force area. Burglary of people's homes and catching offenders is a high priority for the force.

Crime prevention advice includes keeping side gates locked where possible and securely storing garden tools which could be used to force entry.
