Witness Appeal Following Fatal Road Traffic Collision (RTC)

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision (RTC) yesterday morning in which a man in his late 20s died.

The RTC occurred on Ironbridge Road in Jackfield in the early hours of Sunday 2 September.

At just after 2.45am a green Range Rover travelling towards Broseley left the road and collided with a lamp-post and then a tree.

Emergency services were called to the scene immediately but one man - the driver - was pronounced dead a short time after paramedics arrived.

Three passengers from the vehicle - two men and a woman - were quickly rushed to hospital and they all remain in hospital at the present time.

One of the men is described as being in a critical condition, while the other man and woman have injuries that are described as serious but not life threatening.

Police officers from the Force Operations Support Team (FOST) in Shrewsbury are investigating this RTC and they would like to hear from anyone who believes they may have witnessed the RTC itself, or any incidents that may have led up to it.

Anyone who believes they may have information about this RTC is asked to call PC Simon Fearn in FOST on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 110S 020912.
