Wooden Gates Recovered In Cleeve Prior

Officers have recovered a pair of expensive solid wooden gates stolen from The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at Twyford, Evesham.

The distinctive gates, worth several thousand pounds, were taken between 10pm on Thursday 1 December and 9am on Friday 2 December.

Due to the size and unusual appearance of the gates, a local officer whilst on patrol noticed the gates on a caravan site in Cleeve Prior. A warrant was then obtained to enter the plot they were being kept on and recover them.

PC James Wood, from Evesham Police Station, said: "We are pleased to have been able to find the gates and return them to their rightful owner - who is delighted to have them back.

"The investigation into who stole the gates is still ongoing, but this is a successful result for us so far which sends a clear message that we will not tolerate such blatant criminality.

"With this in mind, I would urge whoever is responsible for the theft to hand themselves in at the earliest opportunity."

Anyone with information about this incident can contact PC Wood on 0300 333 3000 quoting 46N 021211, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
