Anyone who has been unsuccessful within our recruitment process or that of another Force in England and Wales is not eligible to re-apply for six months from when they were unsuccessful.
Assessment and selection
Everyone who applies to join West Mercia is subject to an assessment and selection process. This is a nationally designed process.
How long does the recruitment process take?
From when you submit your application to when you join a course could take up to 18 months. However, this can vary depending on individual circumstances, the time checks may take to complete and availability of courses.
All Special Constables must be of good health - both physically and mentally.
We are keen for West Mercia Police to represent the community it serves by creating a diverse workforce. Our Human Resources team offers a range of services to support those from under-represented groups through the recruitment, retention and progression processes.
