West Mercia Crimestoppers

Crimestoppers is an independent charity which helps to find criminals and solve crimes.

Crimestoppers was set up in 1988, the confidential telephone hotline - 0800 555 111 - provides an invaluable community service, so that anybody who has information about criminal activity can pass it on, without living in fear of the consequences.

Every call is treated with absolute anonymity so that nobody will know the identity of the caller, except you, the caller. Rewards are also available and are paid without compromising a caller's anonymity.

The information callers  give to Crimestoppers is passed onto the police in such a way that they do not know who has given it.

It's a simple and secure way of bringing criminals to justice, without anybody knowing who the information came from.

If you have information about any crime call 0800 555111 or visit the national website:

  • phone any time
  • you will not be asked your name, address or phone number
  • calls are not traced and no attempt is made to identify callers
  • of you want to ring us back - we will give you a code number
  • no-one will know who gave the tip-off

You may get a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest and charge, rewards are paid by Crimestoppers Trust in a way that you remain completely anonymous.

If You Speak Another Language

If you don't speak English or if English is not your first language, you can still call the Crimestoppers phone number:

  • call 0800 555 111
  • your call will be answered by someone who speaks English. You will need to tell them which language you speak
  • they will then ask you to hold while they call an interpreter. This may take a few minutes, but please do not hang up. You will hear a message in your language, asking you to wait until an interpreter is available
  • the interpreter will then come onto the line and ask you to tell them the information you want to pass on about crime. They will probably ask you a number of questions. This is to make sure we have all the information we need to investigate the crime or criminals you have told us about.
