Did you witness a burglary in Claverley?

Detectives are appealing for information following a burglary that happened yesterday (Thursday 6 July) at a property in the East Shropshire village of Claverley.

Police were called to reports of the burglary that is believed to have happened between the hours of 9am and 2:30pm yesterday, in the Heathton area of Claverley.

Unknown offenders have forced entry to the property and have taken a number of items, including two firearms (a Beretta shotgun, serial no. F01196B, and a Bernardelli shotgun, serial no. 023976), a TV, small electronic devices and jewellery.

Should you have any information on the burglary, or witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time, please call police on 101 quoting incident 505S of 6 July.

In lights of this burglary, local residents, particularly those within rural communities, are urged to keep an eye out for any suspicious behaviour and unknown persons/vehicles within their areas. You should report any unusual sightings to police immediately, and always call 999 in an emergency.

We would also like to ask homeowners to ensure the safety of their property at all times throughout the day, and any firearms license holders to check the security of any cabinets containing firearms.
