Appeal to trace dog owner following incident in Stourport-on-Severn

West Mercia Police is appealing for the public's help to trace the owner of a dog following an incident in Lickhill Road, Stourport-on-Severn.

The incident happened at about 6.54pm on Friday 25 August, when the dog, a black with brown fleck Staffordshire bull terrier type, had been out with its owner for a walk.

It attacked another dog, a Yorkshire terrier which was being walked in a pet push chair by the owner and her other dog.

The injured dog required veterinary treatment.

The offending dog had been wearing a blue collar and chain lead. Its owner is described as a white man, in his mid 70s, large build with grey hair. He was wearing a cardigan and black or grey trousers.

A spokesman from the Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police dog unit said: "This was a very upsetting incident for everyone involved.

"It is believed that a woman had been in the area and witnessed the incident, and has yet to come forward.

"I would urge anyone who witnessed it, or has any information about the offending dog, to call 101, so we can speak to its owner.

"Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or via their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org, quoting incident 755S of 25 August 2017.
