Free assessed ride-outs in Kidderminster this Saturday! - 21 May 2015

Motorcyclists across Worcestershire and beyond are being encouraged to come along to a Rider Skills Day this Saturday where they can take advantage of a free one-hour assessed ride-out with a qualified IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) observer!

The Safer Roads Partnership in Warwickshire and West Mercia has joined forces with Kidderminster Advanced Bikers (KAB) to organise the event which takes place on Saturday 23rd May at Motorcycle Mart Yamaha on Stourport Road in Kidderminster (9:30am-4:30pm).

Anna Higgins, Communications Manager at the Safer Roads Partnership said "The Safer Roads Partnership works with local partners and motorcycling groups to try and reduce the number of motorcyclists killed and injured in collisions. Rider skills days are a series of safety events aimed at motorcycle riders. Events aim to help riders improve their skills and be more confident on the roads. It doesn't matter if you're an experienced rider or have just got your first set of wheels, the assessed rides will have something to offer everyone so come along and find out for yourself!"

Free assessed rides on your own bike with a qualified observer from Kidderminster Advanced Bikers will be available on the day on a first-come-first-served basis but pre-booking is advised and riders can do so by emailing secretary@kidderminster-advanced-bikers.co.uk

Riders will also have the opportunity to sign up for the IAM Skills for Life programme and take advantage of a substantial cost saving on the price of a course.

Derek Baker, Secretary of Kidderminster Advanced Bikers said "We are delighted to be teaming up with the Safer Roads Partnership on this important road safety initiative. Any riders who sign up for a discounted Skills for Life programme with us on the day will be allocated a local observer who will guide them through the training course. The course content is designed to help those riders who wish to improve their skill level, up to IAM advanced test standard, and can only help improve the safety of those involved. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain!"

Please note, assessment rides are available for full licence holders only.
