Cycle safety

With an increasing number of cyclists using the roads, it is more important than ever for all those involved to share the road responsibly. Cyclists remain a vulnerable group across Warwickshire and West Mercia and we will continue to focus our efforts on reducing collisions involving cyclists.

Be bright be seen cyclist

Cycling campaigns focus on 'share the road' messages. Drivers are encouraged to allow plenty of space for cyclists when overtaking and to always look out for them when undertaking manoeuvres and changing lanes. Cyclists are encouraged to keep themselves as visible as possible, particularly during the autumn and winter months, and to avoid distractions when on their bikes.

The 'Bikeability' cycle training scheme is delivered in schools by local authorities.
