Young drivers and passengers

Too many people are killed or seriously injured on the roads in the UK every year and young people aged 16-24 represent a high proportion of casualty figures - both locally and nationally.

Just one message

Key contributory factors in collisions involving young drivers suggest inexperience and driver / passenger behaviour are the main causes. Our education programmes and campaigns target 16-24 year olds both in and out of education, and focus on issues including: speeding, distractions (mobile phones, music and passengers), road and weather conditions and drink / drug driving.

'Green Light' is the Safer Roads Partnership's young driver and passenger education programme, which is delivered to sixth form / college students across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The 50 minute workshop aims to educate students about why so many young drivers and passengers are involved in road traffic collisions and how they can avoid making the same mistakes.
