Chief Superintendent Selection Process

West Mercia Police are looking for an energetic, innovative, dedicated and committed professional to work in a diverse and challenging environment to ensure successful delivery of their 2020 Vision.

West Mercia Police continue to make significant investments in technology e.g. Mobile Data, Body Worn Video, Athena, SAAB Safe, and are developing a new operational policing model. This role will present an exciting opportunity to realise the benefits and efficiencies of these changes.

A strategic alliance has been formed between West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police leading to a unique model of policing, across the fourth largest geographic policing area in England and Wales.

Local Policing: Chief Superintendent Telford and Shropshire - West Mercia Police

Responsibility for policing and performance across Telford and Shropshire including strategic development, setting standards and operational policy and authorising operational activity for patrol, Safer Neighbourhood Teams, Safeguarding and Local Investigation Departments.

Applicants must be experienced substantive Superintendents or Chief Superintendents with substantial knowledge of contemporary policing issues, proven experience of strategic performance management and an outstanding track record of delivering successful change for improved service to the public.
