Updated: Witness appeal following fatal collision in Bewdley

West Mercia Police were called to reports of a collision between a van and a pedestrian on the A456 near West Midlands Safari Park in Bewdley, Worcestershire on Monday (29 January).

The incident happened at approximately 4:50 am, when a white Mercedes Sprinter panel van was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, a man in his 30s, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The A456 was closed between Bewdley and Sutton Park Road in Kidderminster whilst the emergency services worked at the scene, reopening around 9.20am.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call 101, quoting incident number 51s of 29 January.
