Witnesses sought to attempted robbery in Evesham

Officers investigating an attempted robbery in Evesham are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It happened in a premises on Mayfair at around 8.30pm on Wednesday (28 March).

A man is reported to have entered the store and threatened a member of staff before demanding she empty the contents of the till.

The staff member refused and the man then attempted to open the till. Nothing is believed to have been taken but the woman was left shaken up by the incident.

The man, who is understood to have left on a bike towards Elizabeth Road, is described as around 6ft tall, of stocky build and spoke with a local accent.

He was thought to be wearing a black hooded top, balaclava over his face, dark coloured gloves and dark coloured trousers.

Enquiries are currently ongoing but officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
