Did you see an assault in Redditch?

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Redditch.

The incident happened in Church Hill opposite the One Stop shop at around 8pm on Friday 20 April.

A girl in her mid-teens is reported to have pulled another girl to the ground before kicking her to the head.

When a number of passers-by intervened, the girl - who is thought to have been in a larger group of around nine boys and girls also in their mid-teens - is understood to have stopped.

The victim - in her mid-teens - suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment. She left the area while the attacker is believed to have stayed in the area.

Enquiries are ongoing but officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time.

They would also like the passers-by who intervened to come forward.
