Did you witness an attempted robbery in Worcester?

Officers investigating an attempted robbery in Worcester are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It happened in Astwood cemetery and crematorium on Astwood Road at around 2.30pm on Saturday, 28 April.

A woman in her 50s was approached by a man who is reported to have demanded she hand over her bag. He pushed her to the chest and attempted to take the bag before leaving in the direction of Astwood Road with another man on a bike.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall, wearing a grey hoodie, dark jogging bottoms with the hoodie tied around his face and a scarf around the lower part of his face.

The man on the bike was believed to be white, of slim build, in his early 20s, and wearing all dark clothing. He was heard to shout "Leave her alone Gaz, leave her alone," before making off in the same direction.

The woman suffered minor injuries but was left shaken up by the incident.

Enquiries are currently ongoing and officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
