West Mercia Police again supported RAF Cosford Air Show - this time in RAF Centenary year

West Mercia Police was again in attendance to support event organisers at the annual RAF Cosford Air Show yesterday (Sunday 10 June).

The showpiece attracted tens of thousands of people to the airfield keen to celebrate the RAF'S Centenary Year.  As in recent years the event was ticket only to allow for planning around the large attendance expected, and ease  traffic pressures through the county.

Chief Inspector Mark Colquhoun said: "West Mercia Police was on hand to support RAF Cosford and ensure those attending the event arrived and left as safely and quickly as possible.

"This year, marking the RAF Centenary, was a busy as ever. Due to the large number of vehicles entering and leaving the site a degree of congestion on the surrounding roads was planned for and I thank drivers for their patience, especially during exceptionally busy traffic as visitors left the site.

"The show basked in glorious sunshine, and I hope all who attended enjoyed a great family day out."
