Stolen bikes recovered after warrant carried out

Three stolen bikes have been recovered by police after a warrant was carried out at an address in Shrewsbury.

Officers from Shrewsbury's CID team, the north Local Policing Priority Team and local Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out the warrant on Friday (28 September) at an address in Sundorne.

Three bikes were recovered which were found to have previously been stolen from Shrewsbury town centre.

A 20 year old man was arrested on suspicion of Theft and has been released under investigation.

A second man - aged 22  - was arrested and charged with theft of pedal cycles.

The bikes have since been returned to their rightful owners.

Police have also thanked those who came forward and provided information to police.

DC Marv Choudhury said: "Information we receive from members of the public is really important to us and we're very grateful to those people who do come forward and would urge anyone who does have information about crime or suspected crime in their area to contact us."

Richard Musonza, age 22, of No Fixed Abode, appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Saturday 29 September.

The warrant comes as West Mercia Police continues to run Protect. Protect is a campaign being run by West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police alongside a range of partner agencies to tackle serious and organised crime (SOC).
