Update: Fire in Cotheridge, near Worcester (Sunday 28 October)

At around 8pm last night (Sunday 28 October) police were informed by the fire service that they were in attendance at a fire at a house in Bromyard Road.

Officers attended to assist with closing the road to enable firefighters to deal with the incident.

Sadly, a 21-year old male and an 18-year old female have been found inside deceased. Next of kin have been informed, formal identification has not yet taken place.

A cordon around the property is still in place, fire investigators will be in attendance this morning (Monday 29 October), the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Chief Superintendent Kevin Purcell said: "We were called to assist the fire service with a fire in Cotheridge, near Worcester, last night at around 8pm, sadly two young people have been confirmed as deceased -  a 21 year old man and an 18 year old woman. A cordon is still in place and a fire investigation will now take place."

The road has are now reopened but there are traffic calming measures in place to slow the traffic in the area.
