Police appeal for witnesses to the attempted robbery of a bike, Telford

Incident 0308S of 270219

Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery that occurred just after midday at around 12.30-12.40pm on Wednesday 27 February 2019 on Silkin Way, Madeley between the Station Road crossing and where it goes over the High Street.

The attempted robbery is believed to have occurred when two white males, both described as very drunk, with short cropped hair and their tops off, have stopped a man on a bike on his way to work. One of the males, who was more drunk, attempted to take the man's pushbike before assaulting him by headbutting him and then again trying to take the pushbike.

They continued along Silkin Way in the direction of Telford town centre and had come from the direction of Sutton Hill.

Officers investigating the incident believe that someone will have seen the males and might know their names.

Police are keen to identify the males so that they can be questioned in relation to the incident. If you have any information that could help identify the two suspects please contact PC Richard Carrington at Telford Police Station on 101 ext 5061.

Information can also be provided anonymously by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
